FAQ
Do I get to choose where my session takes place?
I will provide recommendations based on your vision and overall adventure level, but you are more than welcome to pick a location of your choosing.
My travel fees are based upon my home location in Ocean View. I charge $1 per mile from the zip code 96704.
What if there are adverse weather conditions on my session date?
If weather conditions are hazardous or not ideal on your scheduled session date, I will gladly reschedule your shoot at the most convenient time for you and within my availability.
If you are unavailable or not able to reschedule your session due to limited availability in my calendar, you will have 1 year to reschedule your session, as all deposits are non-refundable.
When and how will I receive the photos from my session?
You are guaranteed previews within 72 hours from your session. Select your favorites from the preview gallery and these photos will then be professionally edited and emailed to you via an online gallery within 3-4 weeks following your completed selection date. You will have access to an online print store where you can order digital downloads, prints, wall art and more.
What should I wear for my portrait session?
Before your session, I offer a free Discovery Call where we can go over color schemes that will pair best with your chosen location. For most beach settings, I suggest wearing colors on the spectrum of white to cool and to avoid distracting patterns. If you are looking to stand out against dark lava rock or lush jungle greenery, generally warm colors will wear best. Keep in mind that I do allow unlimited outfit changes for all of my session packages.
Also, Big Island beaches can have coarse sand and rocky coastlines. Barefoot looks best in photos, so be sure to bring comfortable footwear that is easy to slip on and off. If you decide on a location that requires some trekking to get to, I recommend bringing a good pair of hiking shoes or sandals for the approach.
Do you take extended family photos?
Yes! These sessions are automatically 1-hour in length. When booking, please provide me a detailed list of all the names, ages and relationships of everyone in the family along with all of the important groupings you would like to capture. Regardless if you have 10 or 20 people, this will help make the session go as smooth as possible.
Where can I purchase a flower crown for my photoshoot?
Hakus or Lei Po'o (head leis) are a beautiful way to celebrate a special occasion or help control hair in breezy conditions. There are numerous vendors on the Big Island that can provide these wearable works of art that you can adorn in your session and for days after!
